“Session Mom”

Olivia is not only my bride of 25+ years, she is also my partner in all aspects of my professional photography. She comes to every session and works really hard to find the best shots, line up the best poses, and to make sure the client is comfortable. This last part is especially important for our younger clients who hire us for senior portraits. Olivia will often refer to herself as the “session mom” if their mother is unable to attend.

Frequently when the client asks for a shot at a specific spot within the session location, and I’m uncertain about the viability of the lighting conditions, Olivia will jump into the spot to allow me to see how it looks through the camera. One such instance of this was captured in the photos above when Olivia started to pose very dramatically with a sweater around her waist, glasses on her head, and a towel on her shoulder. She ended up cracking herself up, which you can see in the progression. I absolutely love this, and these pictures remind me of how blessed I am to have a partner like her for all things in my life.

So, when you hire me as your photographer, the best thing is getting Olivia as part of the team. I couldn’t do it without her!
